The Mercure Amsterdam City Hotel is appreciated for its modern and clean rooms, with some guests specifically mentioning the spaciousness and amenities like coffee makers, kettles, refrigerators, and even microwaves. Its location offers convenient metro access to both the city center and Central Station, typically a 15-minute ride, making it easy to explore Amsterdam; it is also conveniently located for the Johann Cruiff Arena. inconvenient locationunrepaired shower
The location proved inconvenient. it required a lengthy metro ride into the city center and a further 15-minute walk from the metro station to the hotel. water leaked from the shower throughout my stay, despite reporting it. No repairs occurred.

mixed feelings about my stay

broken air conditioninginconvenient location
The air conditioning was not working properly in my room. i had to request a fan to make it through the night, that's frustrating. also, i found the location to be quite inconvenient. It was a bit of a walk to the metro station, and then another ride to get to the city center.

acceptable stay overall

free drinksspacious roomclosed barout-of-order steam room
the room was spacious even for three people (my kids loved it). i was surprised to find a microwave in addition to the minifridge and nespresso machine. the hotel gave us free drinks and water every day.
the bar was closed on multiple nights of my stay. i was told it was due to it not being busy, but this was still disappointing because the advert for our stay mentioned a bar (i did not use it). the steam room was also out of order. i was not informed of this beforehand.
